C9: 1/2/10 Former President Mr. Festus G. Mogae in Nigeria

His Excellency the Former President Mr. Festus G. Mogae left for Nigeria yesterday evening to speak at the launch of an 'Anti-corruption Revolution (ANCOR) in Gombe State. He has been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of Nigeria to give a keynote address at the ANCOR launch tomorrow Tuesday 2nd February 2010.

The Anti-corruption Revolution is a concept initiated by the EFCC to provide a platform for citizens' participation in the fight against corruption, economic and financial crimes in Nigeria. It involves engaging diverse citizen groups such as professional groups, community development associations, trade and labour unions in the fight against corruption through equipping and empowering them to more effectively demand accountability from leaders in government at the various tiers.

The launch will be held in Gombe which is the capital city of Gombe State. Mr. Mogae is expected to return on Thursday 5th February 2010.
